BORGO MAGGIOLINO- RECEPTIVE STRUCTURE

Borgo Maggiolino is a small borough, hamlet, on the east side of Val di Chio in the Tuscan countryside just a few steps away from Cortona and Umbria. It is nestled in the Tuscan hillside at about 400 meters above sea level and its structures date as far back as the 1600. It is composed of several unique historical structures that were carefully restored with the upmost respect for the original architecture and resulting in a variety of housing solutions for our guests. There are 2 independent cottages, “Cottage Fieno” and “Cottage Capannina”; a charming large farmhouse divide into 2 apartments “La Casa Rosa 1 and 2” both with their own independent entrance; and a historic building in the center of the borgo divided into 2 apartments “La Palazzina 1 and 2” also with their own independent entrances.

INTERIOR

Cottage Fieno: The Ground floor includes an ample well equipped kitchen with fire place and wood oven, living room, and a guest half bathroom . Guest go up a wood staircase from the living room to reach the First Floor. The sleeping area is composed of one bedroom with a double bed and private bathroom with a bathtub and another bedroom with a double bed and private bathroom with shower. This second bedroom is quite romantic as it includes a clawfoot bathtub in the bedroom that looks out a panoramic window.   Il Fieno was the old barn that has been transformed into an exquisite independent villa with a large beautifully landscaped private garden and covered outside seating area with a barbeque and table seating 6. The Borgo’s magnificent swimming pool is 200 meters from the villa and can be reached with a short scenic walk in the properties private garden.

Cottage Capannina: On the ground floor you will enter the living room with a fireplace and well equipped kitchen area and a double bedroom with an in suite bathroom (wheelchair accessible). On the second floor there is a double bedroom and an in suite bathroom with a tub and shower. The villa is surrounded by a small garden with a barbecue and an outdoor table for up to four people.  Villa La Capannina was a warehouse for agricultural equipment at one time and has been renovated into a little gem. It is a detached villa with two floors and a private garden space with a stone barbecue.   The beautiful swimming pool area is just 100 meters away and can be reached through a path on a slight slope within the lush garden space of Borgo Maggiolino.

Casa Rosa 1: The villa unit has a kitchen with a pantry area, large living room with a fireplace, a master bedroom with an in suite bathroom, double bedroom with bathroom (shower), and another bedroom with two twin beds or a double with an in suite bathroom (shower). The private garden area is equipped with a barbecue and tables for up to six people. The beautiful swimming pool area is reached by a tree-lined path through the lush garden that is thriving throughout the village.  Villa Casa Rosa was the ancient manor house which has architectural traces dating back to the Middle Ages which were carefully restored during the renovation. The ground floor has been converted into a large three bedroom unit and has a private garden.

Casa Rosa 2: The Casa Rosa 2 has a living room and well equipped kitchen, a double bedroom and an in suite bathroom with tub, a double bedroom with an in suite bathroom (shower), a twin bedroom, and a bathroom with a shower. The apartment is accessed by a beautiful terrace and has a private outdoor garden area with tables for up to six people.  

Il Palazzino 1: The apartment consists of a kitchen and living room space equipped with all necessities, a double bedroom with an in suite bathroom (shower).  This unit is within a historic building dating back to 1800 and is located within the inhabited village. Il Palazzino 1 is a lovely little ground floor apartment which has access to the common areas and lush gardens throughout the village. The beautiful swimming pool area is reached by a path within the garden.

Il Palazzino 2: You enter the living area via a stone interior staircase. The first floor includes a kitchen equipped with all necessities, a dining space, living room with a sofa bed and a bathroom. On the second floor there is a master bedroom wth an in suite bathroom and a second bedroom with either a double bed or two separate twins with an in suite bathroom. The unit is within a historic building dating back to 1800 and is located within the inhabited village. The beautiful swimming pool area is reached by a path within the garden.  Il Palazzino 2 is an elegant apartment on two floors which has access to the common areas and lush gardens throughout the village. 

EQUIPMENT: All the properties are furnished with fully equipped kitchens with stove top, oven, refrigerator, and dishwasher, living areas with telephone, television and Wi-Fi internet connection, laundry area with washing machine, independent heating, and hairdryers.

EXTERIOR

The magnificent swimming pool is situated in a panoramic position with a breathtaking view of the Tuscan countryside and hillside of the Val di Chio. It is surrounded by an olive grove. The swimming pool is 15 x 8 meters and next to it is a small massaging pool for up to 8 guests.

The price includes: VAT, electricity, gas, water, heating, bed linen and towels, use of the swimming pool, weekly change of linen and towels final cleaning. include bed linens, bath towels, kitchen cloths and tools, dishware and silverware, cups and glasses, electricity, water, and final cleaning.

The price does not include: The new tourist tax where applicable (details on arrival from the owner or property responsible).

LOCATION

The strategic position of Borgo Maggiolino it's the ideal starting point to visit the major art cities in central Tuscany; for example Cortona, Arezzo, Siena, Florence, San Gimignano, Montepulciano and Montalcino, all cities easy to reach by car. You can find very interesting visiting the little Etruscan villages as Castiglion Fiorentino, Lucignano, Monte San Savino, Pienza and Chiusi. It is recommended a visit to Castiglion del Lago where you can discover its pretty islands. In addiction if you want to relax yourself, the thermal areas of Rapolano, Bagno vignoni and Chianciano are only 30/40 km away. The particular geographic location offers to nature lovers the possibility to do pleasant walking along the ancient paths of Valle di Chio. In addiction to all the necessary information to enjoy completely the area, the guest will find an availability of maps and guides for trekking and mountain bike paths too.
