Casale Cecina is located half way between the Etruscan town of Volterra and the Tyrrhenian Sea opposite the islands of Elba, Capraia and Gorgona.
This old residence, situated in a 23 hectare park with Mediterranean vegetation, was rebuilt on the remains of old medieval ruins between the 18th and 19th centuries by two historical personages, the Englishman Sloane and the Russian-Florentine Botourline, sent by the Grand Duke of Tuscany to re-activate the nearby copper mines of Montecatini Val di Cecina.
The castle-house Casale Cecina (450 sq m), carefully restored by the current owners, is a fascinating residence in the most beautiful countryside of Tuscany, for both summer and winter holidays. Magnificent and pristine scenery surrounds the castle in the private park with natural pond, the ideal spot for mountain biking, trekking and Nordic walking. A beautiful 360° panorama made more beautiful, on clear days, by a glimpse of the sea in the distance, can be enjoyed from the portico.
