LA COLOMBINA estate is located in the hills of Gello and Casaglia, a territory known for its iron and copper mines and for the beauty of its scenery. It is a fascinating house for short or long summer or winter holidays in one of the most beautiful parts of the Tuscan countryside. The house with its typical rural aspect has been recently renovated and furnished with antique furniture chosen with attention to the smallest details, in a perfect combination between tradition and comfort. The private park, with a natural pond, is the ideal spot for mountain biking, hiking and Nordic walking. The house enjoys a splendid 360 degree panoramic position over the surrounding hills rich in Mediterranean flora and fauna. It is not more than 30 minutes by car from the pristine beaches, cliffs and sea and from the world famous Tuscan vineyards of Sassicaia and Ornellaia, Bolgheri and neighbourhood, with charming wine bars and taverns for wine tasting.
INTERIOR
The house consists of two floors. The front door on the ground floor leads into the hall with the stairs leading up to the first floor and a small bathroom with shower. On this floor there is the large kitchen with dining table, and with the original fireplace and stone sink and two doors leading out to the garden, laundry and ironing room. Also on the ground floor is the living room, with antique wood stove furnished with warm cosy colours, and a twin bedroom equipped with mosquito nets over the beds, with the possibility of access to the outside through a French window. The wide brick staircase goes up to the first floor with a large landing leading to the sleeping area composed of a double bedroom with a small bathroom, a twin bed room and a bathroom with tub.
PARK
The property is surrounded by 23 hectares of land characterized by woodland and Mediterranean maquis. One hectare is planted with lawn with a profusion of flowers and a variety of different trees. The outside area has been rendered more comfortable and cosy thanks to the presence of pergolas where guests can enjoy outdoor dining or just relax.
Swimming Pool
The pool, completely surrounded by a fence, is about 70 m from the house and can be reached by a little path with a few steps at the end. Of rectangular shape, it measures 12 x 4 m with a constant depth of 1,50 m and is lined with PVC with saline purification. Access is by ladder. The border is paved in terracotta and the solarium area is characterized by a small lawn, equipped with sun beds, deckchairs and a small pergola for shade. The pool is open from the last Saturday of April until the first Saturday of October.
Accessories: Connecting to the internet via USB, satellite TV, stereo system with CD player, DVD player, washing machine, dishwasher, microwave, kettle, coffee machine, iron and ironing board, baby cot and high chair, hairdryer, mosquito nets on the beds, toaster, blender, barbecue furniture, coffee, books and magazines.
