La Veduta is a farmhouse dating to the end of the 15th century, situated in "La Badia" estate with over 800 hectares near Sarteano.
The interior has been renovated with the idea of modern architecture but in respect of Tuscan country traditions. On the approach to the house it is fairly normal to see deer grazing in the meadow.
La Badia is a wide estate located in a very peaceful location, a territory of approximately 800 hectares about 7 km far from the medieval village of Sarteano, in the province of Siena, between the beautiful Valdorcia National Park and the Monte Cetona.
La Badia, an old monastery dating back to the XV century with a thousand year old abbey, has been recently restored. The location now offers hospitality in 11 secluded villas, all with private pool, disseminated amidst the surrounding landscape composed of rolling hills, woods, olive groves, woods, lakes, fields .
These old renovated countryhouses are all situated in an isolated position, kilometers apart one from the other, in order to assure privacy to the guests.
La Badia is only 15 minutes far from the Highway A1. Its position allows easy daytrips to the most important and famous towns and villages of Tuscany such as Sarteano, Cetona, Radicofani, Pienza, Cortona, Montepulciano, Montalcino, the spas of Bagno di San Filippo or the most wellknown Florence, Siena, Arezzo and Perugia.
INTERIOR
The house consists of two floors.
The main entrance is on the ground floor and is composed of a large entrance hall/living room and a spacious kitchen opening out on to the dining room with sitting corner and large fireplace. The kitchen has direct access to a small outdoor patio leading to the garden. On this floor is the sleeping area composed of a toilet and two double rooms, both with ensuite bathrooms with shower. One of the rooms has direct access to the garden. There is also a double room with two queen-size beds and ensuite bathroom with shower.
A staircase leads from the living room up to the first floor with three double rooms with ensuite bathrooms, one with shower and two with tub, and another double room with sofa bed and ensuite bathroom with tub.
GARDEN
The garden is a clearing in the midst of an old wood in the estate overlooking the entire Val d'Orcia. Around the house is a vast lawn of about 350 sq m with rosemary and laurel bushes surrounded by an oak wood starting just a few metres from the house.
The guests of La Veduta must needs learn the rite of “toasting the sunset” whilst sitting by the poolside and looking out over the valley.
POOL
The pool is open from the last Saturday of April until the first Saturday of October. Situated about 50 m from the house, it is rectangular in shape and measures 12 x 6 m with a constant depth of 1,20 m. It has a stone border, PVC facing and ladder to enter the water. The solarium area is equipped with sun loungers and beach umbrella. A cold-water, outdoor shower is situated near the pool.

POSITION
The estate is located nearby the medieval town of Sarteano, directly in the heart of South Tuscany an ideal starting point to for day trips to South Tuscany and Umbria, it is very well linked with the main roads as duel-carriage E45 and the motorway A1 (exit Chiusi – Chianciano Terme).
Many important and interesting historical centres are in the surroundings like Cetona, San Casciano dei Bagni with its Spa, Chiusi and all the hamlets of Trasimeno Lakes as well as important and beautiful cities like Cortona, Montepulciano or Siena. The area is also served form the railway station of Chiusi Scalo from where you can take trains to the main cities like Florence or Rome
