Mercato del Campo in Siena: the Medieval market in Siena on 2nd and 3rd December 2017

Piazza del Campo will host on Saturday 2 and Sunday 3 December 2017 the tenth edition of the traditional medieval market dedicated to the “Authentic Italian Villages”.

This traditional food & crafts in Siena dates back to the Middle Ages.  There are many stalls selling local and traditional food, wine tastings, handmade products and Xmas decorations. From 8am to 8pm, the “shell” of the main square of the city will live a kind of “dip” in its most glorious past like in the 14th century, in perfect combination of tradition, food and wine excellence. The inspiration is to recall the medieval “big market” with about 150 stands that will offer the best products of the Sienese tradition and typologies from Italy and Europe, arranged according to the directions given by the municipal authorities in the 14th century.

Over one 170 of them will exhibit the best products of food and crafts to create a unique appointment with a rich list of events dedicated to taste with workshops, cooking shows, children’s activities and book presentations.

Among the protagonists of the traditional winter event there will be the best products of the Sienese food and wine tradition and the typicalities coming from Italy and Europe, all of which will celebrate the Xth edition of the Market in the Campo dedicated to the “Authentic Italian Villages”.
