VILLA OVIDIO is a beautiful brick and stone house with private pool recently restored and situated in an ideal position, among the rolling hills near Monte San Savino.
Style and elegance of the best Italian tradition characterize both the interior and the exterior of Villa Ovidio while stunning views on the typical Tuscan countryside can be admired from different positions. The property is a perfect place for a holiday all year round. Not only in spring and summer but also in the cold and cooler days of fall and winter seasons. This property is comfortable and practical as it has been equipped with a photovoltaic system installed on both roofs of the parking shelter and the covered area near the pool.
A dirt road of about 300 m leads up on the top a the hill where villa has been built. The road is in good condition and passes through a wooded area which belongs to the large property (approx. 4 acres). Once at the villa, one can enjoy a 360° panoramic view of the surrounding countryside mainly composed by vineyards, fields of sunflowers, woods and, in the distance, the medieval village of Monte San Savino
Thanks to a recent and accurate renovation, the property has been transformed into a high-level villa with a combination of ancient and modern features and is waiting for those guests who wish to spend their holidays in this area.
Despite the ancient and peasants origins of the farmhouse, the owners have tastefully furnished the villa with all the most technologies of modern times. Each room has been decorated with beautiful paintings, original hand made by a well-known Roman artist.
Villa Ovidio is recommended destination for guests who are looking for a special place, set in a picturesque landscape of the Tuscan countryside but close to important places rich in historical attractions, culture and tourism. The property is situated between the small village of Montagnano (about 2km) and Monte San Savino (approx 5 km) in the province of Arezzo. Despite its location close to important communication roads near Monte San Savino, the house is situated in a quiet and panoramic position.
The property belongs to a distinguished family who has been producing fine wines since the early twentieth century. The company, located among the hills of Monte San Savino and part of the DoC Valdichiana area, produces and exports fine wines all over the world. On request, wine tastings can be organized at Villa Ovidio.

Good Day Monika,
Our (four couples, one person in a wheel chair) visit to Villa Ovidio was wonderful. One could not ask for a prettier location in the rolling hills of Tuscan wine country.
The owners family went out of there way to make us feel at home by shopping for us prior to arrival and than having us over to there home for a fantastic dinner party with their family. We did not speak the language but it is easy for people of good will to enjoy each other and have a wonderful night.
The Villa itself met all my brother-in-laws needs in his wheel chair. It was easy for him to get around the house and the yard to get to the patio and pool area.
It would be nice to have some printed matter about the area and day trips for people in a binder at the Villa. Also directions (with address) of places to eat would be a big help. With address you can enter it into GPS o find your way.

Es war fast Gedankenübertragung, weil ich Ihnen ohnehin diese Woche geschrieben hätte.
Ich habe nicht viel zu schreiben, außer dass es ein wirklich toller und gelungener Urlaub war. Villa Ovidio war bereits das zweite Objekt, dass ich über Sie gebucht habe und war auch dieses Mal
positiv überrascht und total begeistert.
Im Haus hat es an nichts gefehlt. Es war sehr ordentlich und sauber. Ebenso der Pool war gepflegt und wurde regelmäßig gereinigt.
Die Küche war hervorragend ausgestattet. Aufgrund des Wetters und der vielen Personen wäre ein zweiter Kühlschrank für kalte Getränke ideal gewesen.
Ein besonderes Lob auch an den Hausbesitzer, der sehr freundlich und Hilfsbereit war. Er hat uns mit Gemüse und Eiern seiner Farm überrascht und somit noch einen weiteren Pluspunkt verdient.
Am Anreisetag waren Sie sofort telefonisch erreichbar und haben den Besitzer für uns Kontaktiert. Auch hier hat alles Reibungslos funktioniert.
Ein toller Urlaub, den wir mit Sicherheit wiederholen werden!

Thank you so much for the wonderful tote bag of goodies. I cannot wait to dig in and try some of them. It will be a reminder of the wonderful time we had in Tuscany.
We did meet up with Stefano on Saturday and managed to order some wine and are happily waiting for it to arrive.
We are now back in the States, where we are having a Tuscan day today. Bright sunshine, with little humidity and blue skies. Of course, there is really no place like home. The River Cruise was wonderful, but the highlight of our trip was Villa Ovidio.

Marlene W. 22.6.-29.6.2013, 01/07/2013wir haben in der Villa Ovidio einen wunderschönen Urlaub verbracht.
Mit 3 erwachsenen Kindern, dazu Partner und 2 Enkelkindern ist es ja nicht so ganz einfach, allen gerecht zu werden. Aber nicht so in diesem Objekt, genial die vielen Schlafzimmer, jeweils mit eigenem Bad.
Ganz phantastisch die große Küche, eigentlich wollten wir öfters essen gehen, aber es hat richtig Spaß gemacht mit 4-5 Personen selber zu kochen.
Und Pool, Whirlpool, die große Rasenfläche, nur schön.
Einziger Kritikpunkt war das Wetter, für das sie allerdings (leider) nicht zuständig sind………………….kleinere Reparaturen, (wie z.B. nicht funktionierendes Fliegengitter o.ä. ) wurden sofort erledigt. Sehr nette und zuvorkommende Besitzerfamilie!

entschuldigen Sie bitte dass ich jetzt erst antworte. Aber ich wollte mir für diese Mail bewußt Zeit nehmen, damit ich ihnen unsere Eindrücke von der Villa Ovidio schildere.
Bei der Anreise war ich ja leider nicht dabei, aber meine Mitreisenden haben sich sehr gefreut dass Sie persönlichen Vor Ort waren.
Allen Mitreisenden hat die Villa ganz hervorragend gefallen, die Ausstattung war bestens um nicht zu sagen schon luxuriös. Das Haus war bei Übernahme sauber und auch die Außenanlage tiptop.
Die Küche war selbst für unseren Profikoch ein Traum. Leider ist der zweite Tisch für die Terrasse erst zwei Tage vor unserer Abreise gekommen. Das war aber für uns auch kein Problem, wir habe einfach die kleinen Bistrotische drangestellt.
Der Pool und der Whirlpool waren traumhaft. Es hat zwar mit dem Whirlpool des öfteren Probleme gegeben, da das Wasser doch sehr schnell verdreckt war. Was auch klar ist wenn die Kinder 5x am Tag rein und raussteigen. Die Besitzer haben sich aber immer gleich darum gekümmert, so dass er auch immer wieder benutzt werden konnte. Eine unserer Mitreisenden arbeitet in einem Betrieb der Pools und auch Whirlpools vertreibt. Sie meinte dass auch in einen Whirlpool Reinigungstabletten oder ähnliches gehören. Das wurde von den Besitzern nicht gemacht. Sie haben das Wasser im Whirlpool immer komplett ausgelassen und neu befüllt.
Wie gesagt dass für uns aber kein Problem, aber vielleicht wäre es ein Tipp für die
Hausbesitzer, damit der Pool nicht immer wieder neu befüllt werden muß.
Auch mit den Zimmern waren alle sehr zufrieden, den einzigen Punkt den eigentlich
alle anmerkten war, dass zu wenige Kleiderbügel im Schrank waren. Und im Bad war es gut wenn man noch Haken anbringen könnten. An der Wand oder an der Tür. Es ist nur die Heizung zum Handtuch aufhängen und als Ablage eigenlich nur das
Fensterbrett. Ist aber wirklich nur eine Anmerkung, ist hat keinen wirklich gestört.
Wir haben die 14 Tage in der Villa Ovidio in vollsten Zügen genossen, es war alles perfekt.suz
Die Besitzer waren total freundlich und zuvorkommend. Auch haben wir uns sehr gefreut dass es so unkompliziert war die Hausübergabe kurzfristig schon am Freitag abend zu machen. Damit war uns wirklich sehr geholfen, da wir ja 900 km nach Hause zu fahren hatten und mit Kleinkindern ist es einfach am besten nachts zu fahren.
Wir empfehlen die Villa jedem weiter und auch wenn ich im Oktober wieder im Reisebüro
arbeite (derzeit bin ich ja noch in Elternzeit) werde ich meinen Kunden ihr Unternehmen
empfehlen und mich bei Bedarf auf jeden Fall bei Ihnen melden.

INTERIOR
The villa has 2 floors with internal and external access
Ground Floor:
The main entrance, through a wrought iron door and a small hallway, leads to a wide open room composed by a dining room - living room and the kitchen.
From the entrance, you arrive in the dining area equipped with a beautiful long wooden table and chairs. Another door leads outside to a dining area located in the back of the villa and equipped with table and chairs, perfect for lunches dinners or just to relax.
On the right side of the entrance, is the kitchen, with a direct access to outside. The owners have paid particular attention to the kitchen by equipping it with high quality appliances such as induction cookers, American fridge-freezer, oven, micro-wave oven with fan, dishwasher, coffee maker, espresso coffee maker, ...)
On the left side of the main entrance, there are two connecting living rooms (with direct access to the external too), and furnished with sofas, one with a huge fireplace and large plasma TV-SAT.
One of the living-rooms gives access through an arch to the sleeping area of the ground floor composed by: spacious double bedroom (with access to and from the outside) with private bathroom with shower suitable for disabled persons, a small room with two single beds, a bathroom with shower.
First Floor:
A typical external stone staircase with a small loggia leads to the first floor composed by a foyer which has been equipped as a corner-bar with a sink (the room will be soon equipped with a small refrigerator, micro- wave) with direct access to one double bedroom with private bathroom with shower
An internal wooden staircase leads upstairs to the foyer (previously mentioned) and to the corridor which gives direct access to two double bedrooms each with private bathroom with shower and to a suite with king-size canopy bed, ensuite bathroom with shower (Jacuzzi, sauna, chromotherapy, music) and bathtub (Jacuzzi with 2 seats)
All rooms are equipped with air conditioning hot / cold and TV-SAT
EXTERIOR
The property has an extension of about 5.000 sqm that includes the villa with swimming pool, garden, plus the surrounding woods, fields and vineyards around. A small gravel driveway leads up to a car park equipped with rooftop photovoltaic system.
Guests can also relax outside during the whole day at any time, thanks to the various spaces specifically created to enjoy every corner of the property. There is also a barbecue at guests’ disposal .
Near the house, on the one hand, there is a panoramic terrace equipped with "Bistrot" tables and chairs which will enable guests to relax while enjoying the beautiful sunsets
POOL
In front of the villa, there is a beautiful swimming pool with roman staircase which makes it possible for pleasant evening swims, as it has also been equipped with colored LED lights to create a magical atmosphere.
The pool is 15x6 m. - depth 1,20 to 1,30 m and is equipped with inviting sunbeds. Near the pool, a large wooden porch equipped with sofas and heated external Jacuzzi tub (5 seats) and sauna (2 seats)

POSITION
Monte San Savino is only 5 km from the villa, and is one of the most important centers of Val di Chiana with all kinds of shops and services and offers many cultural and popular events. This village, probably founded in Roman times was certainly an important castle in the Middle Ages, but today is one of the most visited of the Chiana Valley. Its walls protect many important medieval and Renaissance buildings.
