San Miniato National White Truffle Market<\/b><\/em> comes this year to the 47th edition:\u00a0\u00a011\/12-18\/19-26 NOVEMBER 2017 (San Miniato – Pisa)<\/span><\/h1>\n

San Miniato is a mediaeval village set on a hill top in the heart of Tuscany between Florence and Pisa.\u00a0 It has been able to preserve the richness of the folk traditions that still make the tourist feel the past.\u00a0 As it is one of the most productive truffle-rich areas of Europe, the village hosts the most famous white truffle festival in the world.<\/p>\n

For forty years the\u00a0Mostra Mercato Nazionale del Tartufo Bianco di San Miniato<\/em>\u00a0transforms the ancient old village of San Miniato into a huge open-air tasting workshop for the entire month of November.\u00a0 \u00a0 Over the years the White Truffle festival has expanded to become an International Market Festival and many other local products have been now added to the annual appointment such as wine, cheese and cold meats and crafts:\u00a0 about 150 exhibitors that present food and wine excellences from Tuscany, Italy and Europe.<\/p>\n

The white truffle from the San Miniato hills is\u00a0the most prized and can be found a few centimetres deep in a limited number of areas.\u00a0 Regulated by strict controls and a regional law that defines how they are gathered and marketed, the White Truffle of San Miniato is served in the best restaurants in the world.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>Every year, thousands of gourmets and tourists visit San Miniato to appreciate the food and wine excellence of the area during the most expected event of the year.<\/p>\n

The largest specimen of white truffle in the world was found in 1954 in the district of\u00a0San Miniato<\/strong>\u00a0in a village called Balconevisi:\u00a0 \u00a0it weighed 2520 grams and traveled across the Atlantic to be donated to the President of the United States, Dwight Eisenhower.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
