Property Description

Olimpia  is an old semidetached XVI century farmhouse that has been recently restored in accordance with the traditions of the area (using mainly stone, wood and iron). Located in the medieval village of Amola, in an unspoilt area of the Lunigiana, in the middle of olive groves and surrounded by hills and medieval castles, the villa is just a few kilometers from the lovely village of Pontremoli, from Villafranca in Lunigiana and other medieval villages and only 34 Km from the beaches of Versilia and La Spezia.

The ground floor is characterized by a vaulted living room and has a warm, cozy atmosphere. The terrace in front of the swimming pool offers views of the surrounding hills, the ideal place to savor the freshness of scents and colors.

Its location, although inside the little village, offers maximum privacy for a relaxing holiday yet at the same time permits guests to visit many towns such as Carrara (the city of marble), the Cinque Terre (a UNESCO World Heritage Site), Pontremoli, Lucca, Pisa and Florence, all within easy reach.

Property Details

INTERIOR

The house has two floors.

The main entrance is in front of the pool. On the ground floor is the kitchen with dining area and the living room featuring a vaulted ceiling with TV. Also, on the ground floor, but with entrance directly from the terrace, is a double bedroom with queen-size bed and en-suite bathroom with shower.

A spiral staircase leading up from the kitchen to the top floor opens on to a small living room which also has outside access. On this floor is a library, a double bedroom, a bathroom with shower, a twin bedroom and a bathroom with tub. The interior is well-maintained with fine furniture and brightly colored décor providing warmth and harmony.

An external old stone staircase across a terrace from the library leads down to the ground floor with a further double bedroom with en-suite bathroom with shower and a small kitchenette with a 1.40 cm high window. This bedroom also has outside access.

EXTERIOR

The property covers approximately 2000 square meters. The fenced-in garden is 1000 square meters and is characterized by two terraces overlooking the pool, a well-maintained area that blends in perfectly with the surrounding countryside. The garden is completed by an attractive pergola furnished with table, chairs and barbecue, allowing guests to fully enjoy the sunset over the country-side.

POOL

Clearly visible from the pergola and just a short walk from the house, the rectangular-shaped pool measures 9 x 6 m with a depth varying from 1.00 to 1.50 m. The pool is purified with chlorine and lined with blue PVC. The border is in Prun Stone, a stone that does not overheat. The pool area is equipped with sunbeds, deckchairs and umbrellas. A few steps from the swimming pool is a cold-water outdoor shower.

 

The price includes:   water, gas for cooking purpose, Bed linen and towels (weekly changed), Towels for swimming pool (weekly changed), Cleaning and maintenance of the swimming pool, Use of water, Welcome basket, Internet Wi-Fi, High chair (on request), Baby cot (on request), 

The price does not include: Electricity: upon consumption (average price between 100 Euro and 200 Euro per week), Final cleaning: 120 Euro, Tourism tax (where is applicable), 

Deposit: € 800.00 in cash on arrival.

Check-in:  Arrival time is generally between 4 pm and 7 pm (after 8 pm a fee of € 50 is required and after 10 pm the fee is € 100. Any late arrival has to be agreed in advance).

Check-out:  between 8am and 10am

LOCATION

The house is in the village of Amola, in the heart of the Lunigiana, the historical region of northern Tuscany between the provinces of Massa and La Spezia. This area, between the mountains and the sea, has been traversed for thousands of years by peoples from the north and south and so is full of history and culture waiting to be explored. From pre-Roman times up until the eighteenth century 160 castles were built, of which more than 30 are still active and inhabited while the rest are ruins and remains whose traces can be seen everywhere in the area. Not far from the Tyrrhenian coast and Versilia, from the famous Apuan Alps and the Cinque Terre, there are many historical, cultural and naturalistic routes: ancient borghi (Pontremoli, Villafranca, Sarzana, Fosdinovo), towns (Massa, Carrara, Lerici) and castles (Verrucola, Malaspina, Aquila, Terrarossa, Pontebosio, Bastia, etc.), hiking trails, excursions on bike or horseback.
